PROSECCO CARTIZZE

The golden hill of Prosecco

Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze represents the pinnacle of quality for the entire Prosecco appellation, a true “Grand Cru” that covers just 107 hectares of land in the most prized hills of the area. Located in a specific natural amphitheater between the hamlets of Santo Stefano, Saccol, and San Pietro di Barbozza in the municipality of Valdobbiadene, this micro-territory enjoys unique and unrepeatable soil and climate conditions. The vineyards, located on steep slopes with perfect exposure and morainic soils rich in microelements, benefit from a particularly favorable microclimate where the temperature difference between day and night enhances the aromas of the Glera grape.

A unique and recognizable style

Cartizze stands out from other Prosecco wines for its superior aromatic complexity and structure. Traditionally produced in a Dry version with a noticeable but never cloying sugar residue, today it also finds interesting interpretations in Extra Dry and Brut styles. In the glass, it has a bright, luminous straw color, crossed by a very fine, persistent, and elegant perlage. The olfactory profile reveals an extraordinary aromatic complexity where the classic fruity notes of pear, white peach, and apple are enriched with hints of citrus, acacia flowers, wisteria, and a characteristic scent of fresh almonds.

A sip of elegance and complexity

On the palate, Cartizze reveals its uniqueness: the structure is richer and more enveloping than other Prosecco wines, with an elegant taste profile where the typical freshness is perfectly balanced by a seductive softness. The residual sugar, expertly calibrated in the different stylistic interpretations, is never predominant but blends harmoniously with the natural acidity of the Glera grape. The aromatic persistence is remarkable, with a long, clean finish that reveals notes of white fruit and delicate mineral nuances, testimony to a unique terroir where the vineyards grow on soils particularly rich in minerals.

The masters of Cartizze and opportunities to meet

Among the undisputed protagonists of this microzone are Bisol with its iconic “Cartizze,” Ruggeri with its refined “Cartizze Brut,” Bortolomiol's elegant interpretation “Cartizze Superiore,” and Col Vetoraz's version. Other excellent expressions are produced by Adami, Villa Sandi, Andreola, and Nino Franco, each with their own personal vision of this unique territory.
