Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva DOC "Poggio Lombrone" 2018 - ColleMassari

Dark ruby red, with a complex, clean, fine and enveloping bouquet: it expands with aromas of cherry and violet and continues with a sweet spiciness, before a pleasant mineral sensation. Rich and juicy on the palate, it is well-balanced between tannins and acidity. Very long, it closes with a slightly savoury finish.

With all courses of a meal, it pairs perfectly with local dishes featuring wild boar and, more generally, braised and stewed red meats. Excellent with mature cheeses.

A wine with great structure and longevity, Lombrone comes from a meticulous selection of the finest Sangiovese grapes, from a splendidly exposed vineyard, about 300 metres above sea level. Vinification in oak vats and subsequent ageing in large barrels give a smooth, multifaceted wine, sustained by a warmth and an acidity that are never excessive, integrating perfectly with the palate. Castello ColleMassari's Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva DOC “Lombrone” 2012 is a wine just waiting to be discovered, excellent for accompanying a rich dinner. However, it is also well worth waiting for, as it will still reserve the most wonderful surprises many years from now.
