Deep ruby red colour in the glass, with a wonderful glow. The bouquet is persuasive, with intense and fine sensations of red fruit, with an elegant spiciness and reminiscences of mushroom and bark. A balanced, open, rounded palate, with velvety tannins and an alcoholic structure which reveals glimpses of a great capacity for ageing. This is a generous vintage of Ornellaia, persistent and mineral, with a long finish played on fruity and spicy notes.

The wine that symbolises Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, this Bolgheri Superiore narrates the broadest essence of that great territory on the Tuscan coast, where grapes native to Bordeaux express themselves at unique levels for Italy. The grapes are picked by hand and subject to maniacal selection. Fermentation in steel tanks with 10-15 days' maceration. Ageing in barriques, 70% of which new, for about 18 months, with blending of the grapes after the first 12 months of ageing, and a final resting period of another 12 months in the bottle. A legendary wine, a must-have in every self-respecting cellar.
