Garnet red in the glass with light ruby reflections. The nose is marked by significant floral notes of roses and violets, followed by hints of spice and undergrowth. In the mouth, it is dry and round, with a balanced sip, with velvety and tasty tannins.

Perfect with red meats and mature cheeses. A must-try with the classic braised beef in Barolo.

It is the most classic Barolo of the entire Fontanafredda range, the one that comes from several plots of Nebbiolo located in Serralunga d'Alba, the hub of the winery's daily activities. A prestigious Piedmontese wine on which international critics agree, recognising its interesting aromas – primarily floral – and a body that is always direct and easily satisfying. The must obtained from the gentle pressing of the grapes ferments in steel containers at a controlled temperature of 30 degrees Celsius; the subsequent ageing takes place both in Allier oak barrels and in large barrels, with a capacity of 2,000–3,000 litres. A label that promises to evolve for the next 10 years, perfect for accompanying more formal occasions and also to liven up end-of-meal conversations.
