DOMAINE DE LA ROMANÉE-CONTI

The Absolute Myth of Burgundy

The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, universally known as DRC, represents the undisputed pinnacle of world winemaking. With a history dating back to the 12th century, this legendary estate owns parcels in the most prestigious Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits. Its name derives from the most mythical vineyard, La Romanée-Conti: 1.8 hectares that produce just 5,000 bottles per year of the most sought-after wine in the world. Under the enlightened leadership of Aubert de Villaine, the Domaine cultivates its vineyards according to strict biodynamic principles, with high planting densities, very low yields, and old vines that penetrate deep into the limestone soils of Burgundy.

The Sublime Essence of Terroir

Each DRC label represents the quintessence of the concept of terroir. From La Tâche (the Domaine's monopoly) to Richebourg, from Romanée-Saint-Vivant to Échézeaux, to Grand Échézeaux and Montrachet (the only white wine produced), each wine is a transcendental interpretation of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The winemaking follows ancestral principles: spontaneous fermentation with whole bunches, gentle pressing, and aging in new French oak with minimal intervention. The result is wines of unparalleled finesse, aromatic complexity, and evolutionary capacity, so rare and sought-after that they represent not only the pinnacle of the wine experience but also authentic status symbols and investment objects.
