CHÂTEAU LA LAGUNE
Bordeaux, the cradle of wine. A legendary region, capable of bringing to mind some of the most celebrated and expensive wines in the world. The place where, more than anywhere else, wine was born and developed in its most modern sense, a success that is certainly due to the excellent quality of its products but also to its long tradition. Just think of the 1855 classification, the first of its kind, a true ranking still in use today that divided Bordeaux wines in the Médoc area into Cru Classé and categories ranging from first, Premier, to fifth, Cinquième.
Within this landscape we find Château La Lagune, a winery that produces a 3rd Grand Cru Classé from a blend of the most emblematic grape varieties of the Médoc, namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
Planted on one of the most suitable gravelly hills in the entire region, the vineyard covers approximately 80 hectares. Caroline works among the rows, having been committed for many years to environmentally friendly viticulture based on organic and biodynamic farming practices. This approach is aimed above all at preserving the terroir and the vines, as well as the health of everyone working in the vineyard. The official transition to organic conversion began in 2013, with certification obtained from the 2016 harvest onwards. This natural approach, applied to each individual plot, plays a fundamental role in the final quality of the wines. It allows the individual bunches to draw all the complexity and finesse of their terroir of origin from the soil, thanks to patient and precise vinification and ageing in barriques, carried out according to traditional methods.
Château La Lagune has been producing wines renowned for their balance, finesse and elegance for many years. In the same spirit of excellence, a second wine, “Moulin de La Lagune”, is also produced within the walls of the winery and, since 2004, a third cuvée called “Mademoiselle L.”.
Labels of this calibre could not be missing from the best online wine selection.
